About Us

Ireton Fendley Professional Corporation is a small law firm serving Lanark and Frontenac Counties.

Established in 1987 by Peter C.W. Woodwark and David C. Stevens as Woodwark & Stevens we continue our predecessors' focus on service to clients with balance and compassion.


Katie A. Ireton

A partner of the firm since 2014, Katie served our small business and family clients, supporting them in navigating significant life and business transitions. She made the difficult decision to retire at the end of 2023 with a view to serving her community and the world in a more wholistic way than she felt she could achieve through the practice of law. Her business and family clients continue to be supported by Elizabeth and the Ireton Fendley team while Katie remains open and curious to life’s next great adventure.

David C. Stevens

One of the firm's co-founders, David had a general practice for a number of years before focusing on family law. He has now retired from the practice of law but remains a regular part of the office, offering family mediation services by appointment. Outside his mediation practice David teaches yoga at The Yoga Connection, ministers at Boyd's United Church and continues to compete in marathons and triathlons.

Jamie Lynn Metcalfe

A long-time real estate clerk within Lanark County, Jamie Lynn now brings her expertise in helping clients navigate their home purchases, sales and refinances to Ireton Fendley's team. Her organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities ensure that the firm's clients' transactions run smoothly. When not at the office, Jamie Lynn loves relaxing with her husband and son.

Ruadhan Edwards

Ruadhan, pronounced “Rowan,” is a second-year student at Queen’s Law. Ruadhan is excited to join the Ireton Fendley team and expand his legal skill set, while also making a difference in the Perth community. Ruadhan assists throughout the office and in all types of law, but especially in corporate and family law. He brings a personal and energetic touch to his files, and always aims to assist clients achieve their goals, effectively and on time. Apart from his legal studies, Ruadhan enjoys playing rugby, spending time with his family, and canoe-tripping around Ontario.

Wendy Moncrieff

A Perth native, Wendy has been with the firm since it was established in 1987. She enjoys providing guidance and practical support to clients who have recently experienced the death of a loved one. She also enjoys delving into complex real estate problems such as rights of way and severances.

Wendy is happily married with two children and four very active grandchildren. She loves spending time at her home on Otty Lake with her friends and extended family.

Trina Conboy

After starting on our administrative team, Trina has stepped into the role of estate planning and corporate law clerk to help support our clients with their major life transitions and business record-keeping. When she is not at the office, she is on her family dairy farm or in her art studio painting, doing stained glass or pottery.

Rachel Gamble

After working with the firm as a clerk in various practice areas over two years, Rachel decided to return to school to earn her Paralegal licence. While at school she continues to support the firm and its clients on a part-time basis. Rachel looks forward to establishing her own paralegal practice and supporting the firm’s family law clients after she obtains her paralegal licence in early 2025.

Rachael Code

As our Administrative Coordinator, Rachael takes pride in ensuring clients always feel welcome and that the firm runs smoothly. Professionalism and compassion are just some of her many strengths and she brings sparkle to our team. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, interior design and baking.

Jennifer Somerville

As our Administrative Assistant, Jennifer is passionate about serving the community. She enjoys greeting clients at the front desk and supporting our office with her organizational skills and attention to detail. Jennifer loves nature and likes to spend her spare time hiking, kayaking, and tending to her ever-expanding vegetable garden.

Marnie Turmel

Working with the firm since 2011, Marnie enjoys making sure the firm accounts for all money belonging to clients. When not at the firm Marnie assists other local small businesses with their bookkeeping and financial management.

Chantele Mitchell

Chantele became a member of the Ireton Fendley team in 1992 as a real estate clerk. She now assists the firm with all billing-related matters. Chantele has raised two children with her husband on their farm in Middleville, where she enjoys caring for her family's horses and chickens.

Perth & District Community Foundation is a leading organization promoting positive social change that is aligned with our core values of integrity, empowerment and relationships. As a firm, we have decided to give our charitable donation dollars to Perth & District Community Foundation as it is best able to identify local needs and mobilize collective action to create a greater impact in the diverse communities we serve.

In addition to our commitment to contribute regularly to Perth & District Community Foundation, we also provide our staff with paid leave to contribute directly to organizations that are important to them. Our staff have used this opportunity to contribute to a wide-range of local charities.
